While me and some others have recommended these drivers to Hades Canyon owners, many have been hesitant to try them out, even with the knowledge that AMD had included Hades Canyon support in the release notes. Well I’ve been using the Radeon drivers from AMD’s website for a year now with my HVK-variant of Hades Canyon. There should be both performance and stability improvements compared to the previous Intel-branded driver. Some Hades Canyon owners have been installing AMD branded drivers for their GPUs before with varying success but now AMD lists the Radeon RX Vega M as officially supported. This is a U-turn from Intel’s earlier policy of providing an Intel-verified Radeon driver for the Hades Canyon. Of course Intel hasn’t actually released any driver here but instead they provide a direct link to AMD’s Radeon RX Vega 64 Drivers & Support page and tell you to install the driver provided by AMD.

However, recently Intel has released a “ driver update” on their Download Center website for the Hades Canyon. Previous driver from Intel was released back in January 2019, so that’s a bit of a gap there. This probably explains why there has not been too much driver updates for Hades Canyon lately. Since that Intel has decided to kill off this line of CPUs and focus on their own Xe GPUs. This is because rather surprisingly Intel decided to equip these NUCs with a Kaby Lake-G GPU that was packaged with a fairly powerful Radeon RX Vega M GPU.

im assuming its a faulty card, really wish I could just get a new Nvidia 3070 or 3080 but thats never going to happen.as of now, my 2070 is back in my PC and Nvidria drivers have been reinstalled.The Hades Canyon NUC debuted back in 2018 and it remains the most powerful NUC for gaming. Now i don't know if these AMD cards have LED lights but if they do, the card obviously isnt lighting up. The card would spin its fans for 1 second and sit there dormant. Once i had fully removed nvidia drivers, my pc shut down so i could swap the cards, sadly my monitor had no signal. All I know is it's important to fully wipe my PC of Nvidia drivers. I have never used a non-Nvidia card before so this is totally new to me. I grabbed the card and have neglected it for a few weeks as I have been worried about the process of switching and I wasnt eager to lose my Nvidia even if it's older and failing. It was in my price range but most importantly, it was attainable. So by some form of luck, they happened to have just received an open box AMD RX-6700 marked down to $700. but you know, that's impossible, these days. I had an extended warranty at Micro Center which got me store credit, normally id just get an RTX-3070. Back Story: So I had to replace my failing RTX-2070.
